Content creator Sassa Gurl addressed online users who called her out for comments about artists from a different network during a media conference for a film she is part of.
On Thursday, August 5, Sassa Gurl took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify a viral video from a media conference for “Saving Cherry,” an upcoming comedy film starring Barbie Forteza and Khalil Ramos.
Sassa Gurl is also part of the film, playing the role of “Martha,” a friend of Barbie’s character.
A clip circulating online showed her interjecting co-actor AC Bonifacio, who is also part of the film.
“I’m usually surrounded by Kapamilyas, right?” AC said. “So to be along them—”
“Naloka ka sa mga Kapuso, no?” Sassa asked.
“Oo, talaga… different environment,” AC said, smiling.
“Tama… no? Walang plastikan, no?” Sassa Gurl continued.
“Hoy! Uy, wala akong sinasabi!” AC exclaimed.
“Joke lang, joke lang!” Sassa said.
“I love my network!” AC added.
“Banter lang, ‘to naman, para… kayo!” Sassa Gurl said, gesturing toward the crowd.
“To my Star Magic family, I love you, I love you. Okay,” AC said, referring to ABS-CBN’s talent management agency.
“Joke lang, joke lang!” Sassa Gurl added.
AC laughed before saying that she lost her “train of thought” because of Sassa Gurl’s comments.

The video immediately caught Sassa Gurl’s attention, prompting her to comment with a sparkling heart emoji, “Hoy, g***, wala pong shade, banter lang, labyu.”
Nevertheless, some online users called her out, claiming that other artists appeared “uncomfortable” with Sassa Gurl’s comments.
“Nawala na ba professionalism sa industry ngayon? Ang hirap makarabaho ni Sa.ssa kasi mapakitaan mo lang ng wala ka sa mood, baka maipagkalat na agad masama kang artista. Look how uncomfortable the artists are. Let’s say tama ka, but you have to be professional,” an X user wrote.
“Masyadong out of the line yung pagiging prangka niya diyan. At hindi naman siya ang tinatanong, so what’s the point ng pag-butt in niya? Well, anyway, not a fan naman ng pagiging kanal niya. Siya naman ang nasa bad light diyan, to be honest,” another said.
Sassa Gurl later acknowledged the comments on the platform.
“Saw all your tweets and messages, kinda deserv ko naman talaga ang mabunot, as a queer person who represents the baklang kanal girlies, I realized na dapat nga naman talaga ilugar ang kakanalan,” she wrote.
“I stand by being real, but hindi excuse ito be taklesa. Sa nasabi ko, I take accountability for that, thank you sa mga nag-call out, another opportunity for me to grow as a new artist in showbiz, at syempre, to my sister Ms. AC, sorry, ma for putting you into a very vulnerable situation,” Sassa Gurl added.
AC also shared her post and commented with a heart emoji, “All love, guys!!”
