COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Two persons were killed and four others arrested in a police anti-drug operation in Cotabato City Friday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Reynaldo Delantin, chief of city police Station 4, they were supposed to mount a “Tokhang Reloaded” operation — the door-to-door campaign to convince drug suspects to turn themselves in — along Espino Street and Ramon Rabago Extension when shots were fired at them near the bridge in Barangay Bagua 2.

The policemen fired back and killed Kamad Magundaya Taug, alias Mads, from whom a .45 caliber pistol was seized. Three other suspects were seen jumping from the bridge into the river below.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, the body of Jun Dalandas, a resident of Shariff Aguak and one of the three who jumped from the bridge, was found.

The two other suspects, Danilo Larioza Jr. of Crossing Awang, and Freddie Delanas Bello of Datu Odin Sinsuat, were captured in a follow-up operation and revealed their source for drugs.

This led to the arrest of two more suspects — Abdulrashid Abas Guiandal, 19, and Mamod Mangelen Manedsen, alias Bing, 41, both of Mother Barangay Bagua, from whom 60 sachets of crystal meth, or shabu, were seized.
