The Philippine national men’s basketball team stamped its dominance against Myanmar, annihilating the lowly squad by 95 points, 129-34, in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games on Tuesday at MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It was the second straight victory for the Filipinos who dodged the upset axe against Thailand in their campaign opener last Sunday.

Gilas Pilipinas got off to a 15-0 start and never looked back as it crushed its opponents until the very end.

All of the 11 players inserted by coach Jong Uichico were able to score. Raymar Jose tallied 22 points and five rebounds to lead Gilas Pilipinas.

Kobe Paras had his best game in a national team uniform, compiling 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, seven steals and four blocks while providing entertainment with his gravity-defying dunks.

Troy Rosario made 14 points as Mike Tolomia added 13 markers and six dimes. Christian Standhardinger registered a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Carl Bryan Cruz, who joined the team on Tuesday after playing for the senior squad in the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon, added 12 points.

Gilas Pilipinas will next take on hosts Malaysia on Wednesday.
