Size versus speed.

That’s how Barangay Ginebra San Miguel coach Tim Cone summed up the matchup between his team and TNT KaTropa in the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup best-of-five semifinals.

The Gin Kings and the Ka Tropa collide open their at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum on Monday and Cone believes their rivals will be a tough matchup for the defending champions.

TNT blasted the Gin Kings, 121-92, in their elimination round encounter last September 23.

“TNT handled us with ease the last time they played us,” Cone wrote in a text message to InterAksyon.

“They totally outplayed us and outran us. We’ll need to find some ways to slow them down. No doubts, they are a tough matchup for us. Size versus speed. This could be a classic series.”

Ginebra, which boasts of having a big lineup featuring Greg Slaughter, Japeth Aguilar, Justin Brownlee and Joe Devance, will try to limit TNT which relies on the speed of Jayson Castro and the shotmaking of Glen Rice Jr.

In their earlier face-off, Rice finished with 36 points while Castro added 28 points, including a steady 6-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
