The keyword “Mang Inasal” briefly trended on the micro-blogging platform last Sunday, October 9 following the concert of Seventeen at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Seventeen’s fans, collectively called Carats, were the ones who made it reach the trending topics on the micro-blogging platform.

They tweeted their reactions to a group photo that one of the members named Kwon Soon-young or Hoshi shared on his Instagram Stories.

The photo showed Hoshi and some members having a post-concert dinner.

Filipino Carats were quick to spot their favorite group eating meals from local fast food chains—Mang Inasal and Jollibee.

Philippine Concerts, an online hub dedicated to live performances in the Philippines, also uploaded this photo on its social media channels.

Both Mang Inasal and Jollibee later gained online buzz on Twitter.

Such engagement caught the attention of Mang Inasal’s Twitter account.

It uploaded a composite photo of screenshots of the keyword “Mang Inasal” as a trending topic and the viral group photo from Hoshi.

“Hey, Carats! Thanks for making MANG INASAL trend!” the tweet reads with the hashtags #BeTSinMANILA #BeTSInMNL.

The hashtags refer to the name of Seventeen’s world tour “Be the Sun.”

This tweet also gained traction on the micro-blogging platform. So far, it garnered 1,322 retweets, 372 quote-retweets and 9,353 likes.

Some fans quipped that Mang Inasal, popular for its chicken and other rice dishes, should give exclusive vouchers and promos for Filipino Carats.

“I think need niyo na po mag-promo pero for Carats only,” one Twitter user said.

“Wala bang free diyan Mang Inasal? Pakita lang [tickets] sa bets tas libre halo halo hahaha,” another user tweeted in jest.

“Now, a promo, maybe?” another user joked.

Mingyu, one of the members, was also talked about online after he posted photos of himself on Instagram while enjoying the popular Manila Bay sunset at the SM Mall of Asia Seaside.

Seventeen is a 13-member group that comprises Joshua, S. Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Woozi, Jeonghan, DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino.

They debuted under Pledis Entertainment in 2015.
