The flag carrier caught the attention of fans of Taylor Swift after it promoted international flights to “Eras Tour” stops.

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) on June 21 invited Filipino Swifties to book their flights to Japan, Singapore and Australia, where the multi-awarded artist is set to perform in 2024.

Japan and Singapore are the only two Asian nations Taylor will visit. She will also perform in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.

Taylor released the additional schedule for her best-selling concert earlier on the same day last Wednesday.

In its post, PAL’s Facebook account cited a line from Taylor’s “I Wish You Would” single from her 2014 “1989” album.

The airline also promoted its Independence Day Seat Sale there.

“I wish you would…get your flight tickets from PAL when you enjoy the concert of the century!” PAL said.

“Book your flight tickets with the Independence Day Seat Sale! Book now at flights.philippineairlines.com/en-ph!” it added.

PAL listed the following destinations on its promotional poster:

  • Manila to Singapore
  • Manila to Tokyo, Japan
  • Manila to Melbourne, Australia
  • Manila to Sydney, Australia

On the website, it was stated that the flag carrier’s Independence Day Sale starts from an all-in package of P861. These include taxes, fees and surcharges.

Only the Travel Tax is exempted from the seat sale package.

PAL’s post, meanwhile, has since garnered more than 60,000 reactions, 4,000 comments and 8,100 shares on the platform.

Most fans seemed to be amused with it. The reactions comprise 24,000 happy emojis, 2,900 likes, and 2,300 heart emojis.

Several fans also commented on how fast PAL managed to ride on the “Eras Tour” trending topic to promote its services.

“Ay ang galenggggggg sinakto mo pa talaga,” a Facebook user said.

“Masyadong excited si PAL. Di pa nga namin alam kung makakabili ba ng ticket ni Inang Taylor,” another fan on Facebook said.

Fans in the Philippines and in other countries in Southeast Asia felt sad, dismayed and frustrated that they won’t be seeing their favorite singer soon.
