CLARK FREEPORT – At least two AirAsia PH aircraft now officially carry the Puregold logo, symbolizing their newly forged partnership. The Clark-Kalibo route served as the maiden flight for the aircraft with the Puregold logo, a ranking AirAsia official told reporters here Friday.

“Both AirAsia and Puregold have similar beginnings and the same culture,” said Philippines AirAsia CEO Dexter Comendador on the sidelines of the launch of the Air Asia- Puregold livery.

Comendador said Puregold started with a single store in 1998 and then suddenly expanded. Similarly, AirAsia started in Clark “with just two planes; now we have 15 and hopefully, in 15 years, we should be around 70 planes.”

Comendador, who led the launching of the official Puregold livery, said AirAsia is honored to be carrying a homegrown retail brand on the ground and in the skies, extending as far as the whole of the ASEAN region to China, Korea and into the AirAsia Group’s massive network of over 120 destinations across the globe.

As part of the partnership, Puregold has its name wrapped on the AirAsia aircraft. The first Puregold livery was shown to domestic and international travellers before the maiden flight.

For his part, Puregold President Vincent Co said at the launch, “Like all things that we have been doing since we started our retail chain up to our initial public offering in 2011, this day heralds a perfect opportunity for Puregold to exand our brand’s reach. Our partnership with AirAsia, a globally recognized brand, is anchored on a shared commitment to deliver value and the best quality service.”

Comendador said AirAsia and Puregold take pride in “our collaborative nature, and this new livery demonstrate the airline’s creative approach to partnership and marketing opportunities, especially with companies that support and promote the Filipino brand of excellence service.”

AirAsia, he stressed, is “very happy with partnership with Puregold. We’re happy to be identified with Puregold, the way they treat their customers and the way they treat their employees. We have the same culture, so we’re happy to be identified with Puregold.”

He said AirAsia PH met Puregold by chance and someone suggested and hinted on a partnership agreement.

Puregold has a total of 329 stores across the country. AirAsia operates 17 aircraft for domestic and international flights.
