(UPDATE: 4:03 PM, September 7) – Sold out within an hour for what was originally a one-night engagement on May 3, the Manila stop in Bruno Mars’  24K Magic World Tour 2018 has been extended for an additional show on May 4.

Less than an hour after their availability was announced, tickets to what would have been Bruno Mars’ only performance in Manila next year, was declared sold out Thursday morning. Just a few hours later, however, Rhiza Pascua, chief executive officer of concert promoter MMI Live announced on social media:

“Due to the demand, we have added a second day to #24KTourMNL on May 4, 2018!! Tickets will be available (September 8) at SMtickets.com or at any SM tickets branch.”

So to be clear: Bruno Mars will now be performing on May 3 and 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Mars first performed in the Philippines in 2014 for the Asian leg of his “Moonshine Jungle” world tour. That year, he also donated US$100,000 for children affected by killer typhoon Yolanda also known as Haiyan.

Born Peter Gene Hernandez to a Hawaiian father and a Filipina mother, Mars shot to fame when he became a featured artist in the song “Nothin’ On You” by B.o.B.

After several guest appearances on other artists’ records, Mars released his debut album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” in 2010. It peaked at number 3 on Billboard’s album chart and yielded two number 1 singles in “Just The Way You Are” and “Grenade”.

His second studio release, “Unorthodox Jukebox” from 2012 also yielded two number 1 records in “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man”. His other Top 10 hits in the US include “The Lazy Song”, “It Will Rain” and “Treasure”.

His latest album, “24K Magic” was released last year and has so far yielded three hit singles, the title track, “Versace on the Floor,” and another US number one in “That’s What I Like.”

Throughout his career, the five-time Grammy award winner has sold over 115 million singles and 9 million albums worldwide.

Presented by Smart, the Manila concert of Bruno Mars next year is in support of his “24K Magic” world tour.
