A shopping mall invited Pinoys for a “haunted mystery experience” to celebrate the season of Halloween with the participation of Mystery Manila.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls teased the public with the limited-time mystery event called “Terror in the Theater” initiated by the team behind the country’s first live escape room game.

“Are you ready for #Halloween?” it said on Facebook, accompanying its post with pictures.

The game is available to horror- and mystery-loving Pinoys from October 28 to December 31 at Uptown Mall‘s Cinema 3 in Bonifacio Global City.

They must be able to solve the mystery behind the murder of a made-up famous actress, Samantha Scarlet, for a fixed amount of 30 minutes maximum.

The premise of the game goes:

“Famous actress, Samantha Scarlet, was brutally stabbed in the middle of her performance of the play ‘The Deadly Drama’, when the fake dagger was switched with a real one by one of the actors. The murder remains unsolved to this day, and the ghost of Ms. Scarlet continues to haunt the theater until the killer is put to justice.”

Players must “investigate inside an old abandoned theater and stop the hauntings within.”

Ticket costs P500 per head, with a team limited to two to seven people.

Mystery Manila is the first live role-playing game in the country where players can enjoy escape room challenges, whodunit games or scavenger hunts in different parts of the metro.

To those who are into movies, other malls are offering screenings of scary and suspenseful films until November 1.
