A municipality in Rizal province denied claims of a circulating voice message alleging that three inmates escaped its police station.

The Taytay Public Information Office (PIO) said that Taytay Mayor Allan De Leon and Police Major Joel Custodio of the Taytay Municipal Police Station conducted an inspection to verify the claims.

According to authorities, the inmates in the police station are complete in number and in good condition.

“HINDI po totoo ang kumakalat na voice message,” Taytay PIO said in a Facebook post on March 1.

The post came amid a circulating voice message on platforms such as Facebook Messenger, where a male individual can be heard saying:

Hello, guys. Magandang gabi. Inform ko lang kayo na mayroong problema ngayon sa munisipyo, I mean, sa police station. Tatlong preso ‘yung nakawala.

So, isang may kaso ng homicide and then ‘yung isa, murder. Tapos ‘yung isa, rapist. ‘Yung rapist, gumagala dito sa banda ng east, basta dito sa banda ng St. John sa Ranay… so, reminders lang.

Huwag kayong lalabas nang mag-isa or maglalakad nang mag-isa. Always make sure na meron kayong kasama. And again, paki-chat ‘yung mga family members niyo if ever na uuwi kayo mag-isa, para alam nila, just in case, saan kayo pwedeng tignan.

So make sure na mag-update kayo sa mga pamilya ninyo kung uuwi kayo nang mag-isa or maglalakad kayo nang mag-isa.

So ‘yun ang problema ngayon sa may police station. Tatlo ‘yung nakatakas, kaya medyo mag-i-ingat-ingat lahat. ‘Yun lang, magandang gabi.

The Taytay PIO advised residents to continue to remain vigilant.
