Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is hoping to unleash its never-say-die spirit as it faces elimination in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Down 0-2 against TNT KaTropa in the best-of-five semifinals, the Gin Kings are out to keep their tournament hopes alive in Game Three on Thursday.

“Sana maipakita ulit namin yung never-say-die attitude kasi last conference naipakita namin. Sana dito (Game 3) namin maipakita,” Scottie Thompson said.

“Sobrang tough talaga nitong series na ito.”

The Gin Kings are no strangers to such kind of obstacle this season. In the last Philippine Cup, they were able to overcome a twice-to win situation in the quarterfinals and a 3-2 deficit in the semifinals before succumbing to San Miguel in the finals.

But Ginebra has yet to find a way to fully contain TNT import Joshua Smith who has been unstoppable in the paint.

“Our backs are against the wall again,” Ginebra forward Japeth Aguilar told sportswriters. “We’ll have to do it the hard way again. May chance pa. It’s up to us kung paano namin maso-solve, kung paano namin tatalunin yung TNT.”
