‘Dumadagundong’: Miss Universe 2022’s crowd support for Celeste Cortesi gets noticed

Vice Ganda and other Filipinos noticed the enthusiasm of the audience for Celeste Cortesi during the coronation night of the 71st Miss Universe.

Each candidate was given a moment to introduce her name and the country she is representing at the start of the event.

When it was Celeste’s turn, the jubilant cheers of the audience could be heard when she announced her name on the microphone.

Several viewers noticed this and shared their observations on Twitter.

“Super applauded si Celeste mukhang nangako ng painom sa audience! Kavogue!” veteran comedian Vice Ganda tweeted.

“Grabe ang New Orleans maka-cheer para sa Miss Universe Philippines,Celeste Cortesi! Dumadagundong!” another user said.

“The Philippines has the best audience as always,” another user pointed out.

Others also shared a video clip that showed Celeste’s part during the introduction of Miss Universe delegates.

The conclusion of the prestigious pageant is taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana in the United States.

It is currently airing on A2Z Channel 11, Kapamilya Channel, TV5, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC.

The keyword “Celeste” also trended on Twitter Philippines as Filipinos rallied behind her at home.

Amid the audience support for her, however, Celeste finished early after her name was not called as among the Top 16 finalists.

The last winner of the competition from the Philippines is Catriona Gray in 2018.
