For smartphone users worried about prying eyes, a new display feature aims to keep on-screen content visible only to the device owner, as a multinational electronics company unveiled a new product line equipped with this function.

Samsung Electronics launched its Galaxy S26 series, which includes the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

According to Isabelle Kim, the flagship product marketing manager at Samsung, the feature, currently available only on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is the world’s first privacy display.

“This is a brand new technology, and it’s actually [the] world’s first technology brought to you by Samsung called Privacy Display,” Kim said.

“It’s a way for you to…protect your information, your data, keep yourself secure when you are surrounded by other people,” she added.

The feature allows users to view their phones normally while limiting visibility from side angles.

Users can also customize how the privacy display is activated, such as turning it on when entering passwords or switching it off when scrolling through selected apps.

The new series also offers other privacy features, including Call Screening, Privacy Alerts, and Private Album.

Calls from unknown numbers can be identified through AI-powered call screening. Meanwhile, the privacy alert feature notifies users in real time if apps with device administrator privileges attempt to access sensitive data, such as precise location or contacts.

Users can also hide selected media files without creating a separate folder or signing in to a Samsung account through the Private Album, a built-in gallery feature.

Other upgrades include camera improvements such as enhanced nightography video, upgraded super steady video capture, and Photo Assist, which allows users to modify images using artificial intelligence.

The device also supports super-fast charging, enabling the battery to recharge from 0% to 75% in about 30 minutes.

The phones are available in Cobalt Violet, White, Black and Sky Blue. Pink Gold and Silver Shadow color options are available exclusively through online orders.

Pre-orders from authorized Samsung dealers and Samsung Experience Stores are open until March 17.
