MANILA, Philippines — (UPDATED 5:18 P.M.) Cebu Pacific said Thursday its flight 5J 741 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Manila has been delayed by a technical problem that required the aircraft to undergo “a thorough maintenance inspection.”

An advisory from the airline said the flight’s departure, scheduled 12:45 a.m. (5:45 a.m. Manila time) Thursday had been moved to 5:00 p.m.  (10:00 p.m. Manila time).

Estimated arrival time in Manila will now be 7:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23 instead of the original 3:35 p.m. on Thursday, June 22.

According to Cebu Pacific, the flight had 432 passengers, including three infants.

“Those with a visa enabling them to exit the airport were transported to accommodation provided by Cebu Pacific, or their residences. Those who were unable to leave the airport due to KSA visa restrictions were provided food and drinks by Cebu Pacific onsite representatives after special permission was obtained from local authorities due to the observance of the Holy month of Ramadan,” the airline said.
