Are you ready to bid this tumultuous year goodbye?
Big names such as Ben&Ben, SB19, Moira dela Torre and Glaiza de Castro are set to perform for their fans in a massive virtual concert on New Year’s Eve on December 31.
Called the “Bye2020,” the concert will feature 28 artists from several local record labels have joined in solidarity to help their fans usher in the coming year and to celebrate the achievements of the music community in the past challenging months.
“With the utmost goal of bringing together the Filipino people through music and inspiring them to help cope better in the face of adversity, BYE2020 is a powerful statement that not only recognizes the small but impactful triumphs of the music community despite a very challenging year, but also honors the collective efforts of everyone in holding each other up during the pandemic,” the organizers said.

The concert aims to help Filipino fans be more hopeful in 2021, the organizers said.
“What BYE2020 delivers is a way for every Filipino to look back at all of the challenges we have faced, and enter 2021 a bit more hopeful,” they said.
“Fortunately for us, technology has allowed us to re-imagine what we can do for music entertainment and live events. And we are bringing to bear every learning, every talent, and every skill we have gained this 2020 and applying it to our event BYE2020,” they added.
The big event will run continuously for six hours from 7 p.m. on December 31 onwards.
It will be streamed on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and other channels for free.
BYE2020 is brought by Pepsi, Tinder, and Its More Fun in the Philippines. It is also presented by MCA Music, Sony Music Philippines, Warner Music Philippines, O/C
Records, Star Music, Universal Records, and Midas Records.
The virtual showcase is also co-presented by Official Beer Partner, Heineken; Official.
Metro Manila retains the general community quarantine status, which the region had been placed under since June 1, until the end of the year.
Provinces Batangas, Iloilo City, Tacloban City, Lanao del Sur, Iligan, Davao City, and Davao del Norte are also placed under GCQ until December 31.
Despite the relaxed restrictions, Christmas parties and any type of social gathering are still prohibited under the GCQ phase to help prevent another surge in infections during the holidays.
