Sarah Geronimo broke her silence on the buzz about her alleged falling out with long-time choreographer Georcelle Dapat-Sy.

Speculations between the two stemmed from the absence of Georcelle, also known as Teacher Georcelle, during Sarah’s appearance on Fiba World Cup 2023.

The chorographer was also not present during Sarah’s 20th-anniversary concert last Friday.

Fans have also noticed changes in the popular choreography of her hit song “Tala.” This choreography has become part of Pinoy pop culture over the years.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on May 16, Sarah expressed deep gratitude to Georcelle and G-Force for the years they have worked together.

The multi-awarded artist, however, admitted that it would have been “magical” to have her collaborators onstage with her.

“Salamat, salamat po [to G-Force and Georcelle]. Siyempre malaking bahagi po sila ng career ko. It would have been more magical if they were there. I wanted them to be there to celebrate my 20 years with me,” Sarah said.

The singer further continued, “Baka maiyak ako.”

Georcelle and G-Force have been Sarah’s choreographers and collaborators for 16 years.

The former is also responsible for Sarah’s iconic dance steps for “Tala” and other songs.

Georcelle, meanwhile, likened the fallout between the camp of Sarah and G-Force to a “bad breakup.”

She expressed this in a statement that Ogie Diaz released in his YouTube video.

“Parang love team kami for 16 years, but this year gusto niya to try other things. She’s looking for growth as an artist and as a person. She wants to try other things,” she was quoted in a report as saying.

“It’s like a breakup,” the creative director added.

In another interview with ABS-CBN News, Georcelle cited creative differences as the main reason for her non-participation at Sarah’s concert.

“She wanted to do something else. She respects naman my decision. We had a heart-to-heart talk before I said I’m pulling out. She’s really okay with it,” she said.

Sarah on May 12 mounted a four-hour set for her big comeback onstage at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Some of the songs she performed include “Tala,” “Dati-Dati” and “Sa Iyo.”
