Celebrity couple Megan Young and Mikael Daez visited and fed rescue dogs at an animal shelter in Bulacan that is at risk of closure.
Miss World 2013 Megan and actor Mikael grace the charity event at Passion Project Foundation‘s animal shelter in Bulacan last June 22.
Pawssion previously announced that this property, which is home to hundreds of stray cats and dogs, was scheduled to close down soon.
The organization said that the landowner is selling the land where the shelter is located.

Before this fateful day, Megan and Mikael, who are also animal lovers and advocates, spent quality time with 280 Pawssion fur babies. They also took part in feeding them for a day.
Megan said that she and her husband have been supporting this organization for several years now.
“It’s really nice to see how far Pawssion Project has gone to take care of the dogs. We’ve been supporting them for the past couple of years and Fofo (Mikael) doesn’t know this, but I also send those funds from time to time,” the Miss World 2013 queen said.
This initiative was led by Doggo Philippines, a locally-owned dog care brand. The rescue dogs were fed with the brand’s chicken and beef variants of wet food.
Doggo’s Facebook page also uploaded a video of this event on July 17.
In the post, it was stated that the most memorable part of that day was feeding the rescued dogs.
“The true highlight of the event was the heartwarming act of dog feeding, where we ensured that each underprivileged pup experienced the joy of high-quality, nourishing food,” Doggo said.
The dog care company also donated gift packs containing all the essential items for the dogs. These products can also be found in the brand’s online stores. These are:
- Treats
- Feeding bowls
- Water dispensers
- Beds
- Leashes
- Shampoos
- Conditioners
- Grooming tools for proper hygiene care
Mikael perceived such an event as a “heartwarming experience.”
“It’s nice to work with Doggo as well, to see a brand that always reiterates the improvement of animal welfare. To see the dogs, volunteers, and the brand coming together—it really is a heartwarming experience,” he said.
In a statement, Rachel Cribello, head volunteer at Pawssion, expressed deep gratitude to the dog care company for its donation and visit.
She also expressed hopes that more pets can find their forever families in the near future.
“Sana mas marami pa kaming mapa-adopt na pets at mas gumanda pa ang facilities namin. Hindi dahil maganda yung aso, kukunin na pero kapag nagka-sakit, hindi na aalagaan at ibabalik lang ulit sa amin. Kung kailan nila tayo mas kailangan, sana ay handa rin tayo sa responsibilidad,” Cribello said.
