Videos showing viewers dancing and singing during the “Eras Tour” concert film screening got people talking about cinema rules on social media.

These videos were shared by some Filipinos who captured their experiences watching Taylor Swift‘s documentary of her best-selling world tour in the theaters.

Some malls also uploaded on their TikTok accounts footage of the jubilant crowd inside theaters showing the “Eras Tour” concert movie.

In a video shared by SM Manila on October 13, audience members sang their hearts out to Taylor’s “Enchanted” during the movie screening. Some of them also have their phones lit up, thus exuding a concert-like ambiance to the viewers.

October 13 was also the global premiere of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” movie.

“The best crowd,” SM Manila wrote in the video.

The video garnered over 10 million views and 1.2 million likes so far.

While some Filipinos enjoyed reminiscing about their movie-watching experience, some X users disapproved of the use of flashlights on mobile phones inside the movie theater.

“I get the singing part kasi it’s a concert film but the [number] of flashes turned on???? Ma’am this is STILL a cinema,” an X user said.

Other Filipinos also shook their heads to the viewers standing up and singing out loud.

“Sana pala tinanggal na lang upuan. Tatayo din naman pala,” an X user said.

“Bakit parang may main character syndrome silang lahat,” an X user commented.

Standing, singing, and dancing are allowed in SM Cinema theaters, according to the cinema chain’s policy.

The mall chain also encouraged the dressing up in “Eras Tour” concert outfits and bringing the official “Eras” Light Up Baton merchandise to the theaters.

“Ladies always rise above, so standing, singing, and dancing are allowed, but don’t block fellow Swifties’ view. Bring your The Eras Light Up Baton and your friendship bracelets,” SM Cinema said.

Prohibited acts, meanwhile, include:

  • Taking photos and videos of the movie
  • Blocking the view
  • Throwing items
  • Taking someone else’s seat

Ayala Malls Cinemas also allowed singing and dancing to “feel the love story romance” while watching the “Eras Tour” documentary.

Recording the movie is also not allowed.

“Sing, dance and feel the love story romance. Let the sparks fly from your mobile phones, but be considerate of your fellow Swifties enjoying,” Ayala Malls said.

“No camera roll for Taylor’s delicate tales. The cinemas rule: don’t be a film crew and just enjoy the show,” it added.

Here are the rest of the reminders from the cinema chain.

The “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” musical is currently running on its second week in theaters.

In her latest social media post, Taylor also expressed delight at how people, especially her fans, enjoyed and celebrated her high-grossing concert film.

“What a truly mind-blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into. I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for,” the multi-awarded singer wrote in her post.
