Aspiring beauty queens who want to be “part of the Filipino pride” are invited to join the most prestigious beauty pageant in the Philippines for the 2023 edition.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization on Tuesday reminded the public that Filipinas who want to join the pageant may now apply. Chosen aspirants will have a chance to become a delegate to the upcoming 72nd Miss Universe.
“Be the next representative of the country in the most beautiful pageant in the universe!” it said on a Facebook post.
“Don’t miss your chance and send in your application for Miss Universe Philippines 2023 now,” it added.
Contestants-to-be must fill out a three-page application form where they must provide their personal information, including citizenship status.
They also need to provide details about their past and outstanding contracts on talent management, sponsorships, endorsements and the like, if any.
Applicants must also share information about their past and present television appearances, movies and pictorials.
Applications will close by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 5, 2023.
The reigning Miss Universe Philippines is Celeste Cortesi, who was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2022.
She is representing the country in the 71st Miss Universe whose grand coronation will air on January 15 (Manila time).
Last year, it was reported that the Miss Universe organization would allow mothers and married women to compete in the international beauty pageant.

In the Miss Universe Philippines application form, there is no distinction about the applicant’s marital status.
MUPH also unveiled two new titles in last year’s pageant edition — Miss Universe Philippines Tourism and Miss Universe Philippines Charity.
Apart from this, the pageant also honors the first and second runner-ups of Miss Universe Philippines.
Meanwhile, the winner of the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 title will represent the country in the yet-to-be-announced 72nd edition of Miss Universe.
The Miss Universe is considered the most prestigious international beauty pageant in the world. Its website says that it is the “greatest celebration of women.”
The winner of the annual pageant will get to enjoy hefty prize money, a six-figure yearly salary, a free stay at the Miss Universe apartment in New York City, free services from well-known makeup artists and stylists, and access to skincare, jewelry, shoes, clothes and hair products for one year, among others.
The Miss Universe competition airs in more than 190 territories, with an estimated half a billion viewers annually.
