A woman brushing her teeth while dining at a specialty coffee chain has left Filipinos raising their eyebrows.

A Threads user on Monday, August 10, posted a video taken from Facebook showing a mother letting her daughter brush her teeth in the dining area of Starbucks.

Two cups were placed in front of the girl, with one serving as a basin and the other used to rinse her mouth after brushing.

The act appeared to amuse the mother and some of their companions. The daughter was also seen smiling as she rinsed her mouth.

“Hindi na magagalit ang dentist kahit mag-coffee…” part of the caption of the Facebook post reads.

The video was reposted by a Threads user, who raised concerns about the girl brushing her teeth in the dining area.

“Call me KJ or OA, [I don’t care], pero ang mag-brush ng teeth inside SB [Starbucks] is a big NO. Being hygienic is a good thing, pero linulugar ang pagiging hygienic, kadiri ka, ate,” the Threads user wrote.

The post has so far garnered 1,700 likes, 214 reposts and 817 comments on Threads.

“Nasobrahan na ang clout chasing ng mga tao lately. Umabot na sa ganyan,” one commented.

“Yucks. Anong thought process ni Ate and her friends? May washroom naman,” another commented.

“Hindi naman bawal maging hygienic, pero sana may awareness din sa lugar. If it’s not obvious, Starbucks is a café, not a communal bathroom. Some things really don’t need to be done in public. This is just rude,” a different Threads user wrote.

Another online user tagged the specialty coffee chain to raise awareness about the incident.

“Napanood niyo na ba ‘yung viral video na nag-toothbrush sa loob ng SB. Grabe, nakaka-dugyot tingnan. Hahaha. Like, kung sa inyo, okey lang ang ganyan. Paano naman ‘yung ibang customer na makakakita sayo. Sakit sa bangs!” the Facebook user wrote.

“Hello, Starbucks Philippines, medyo hindi maganda sa sikmura ‘to. Beke nemen!” the Facebook user added.

The coffee chain has not yet publicly addressed the incident.

Meanwhile, its branches are known to have restrooms equipped with digital locks, allowing them to be used exclusively by diners. The access code is printed on the diner’s receipt.
